Falcon Fire Sprinkler performs
inspection services on private fire hydrants.
Fire
hydrants out of service or poorly maintained can impair proper fire
protection. Falcon Fire Sprinkler can inspect, test, and
maintain all necessary components of private fire hydrants.
Inspections of private fire hydrants are
conducted in accordance with NFPA 25 standards, including full testing of
the hydrant to ensure that all components are in prime working
condition. We offer inspection programs geared to provide automatic
periodic inspections required by NFPA 25 and the authority having jurisdiction.
In accordance to NFPA 25 regulations, the
annual procedures are
performed by Falcon Fire Sprinkler when a private fire hydrant is
inspected.
-
(1) Hydrant is clear from external obstructions and
accessible.
(2) Hydrant is properly color-coded for type of
hydrant.
(3) Hydrant is opened fully and water is
flowed until all foreign material has cleared.
(4) Hydrant is checked for proper drainage
from the barrel (full drainage must not be longer than sixty minutes).
(5) Hydrant is visibly checked that the
hydrant barrel is not cracked.
(6) Hydrant is checked and lubricated to ensure that all stems, caps,
plugs, and threads are in proper operating condition.
NOTE: Private fire hydrants should be
inspected during the spring and fall months. Summer inspections should
be avoided because of heavier water demand on the system.
